Investigates, analyzes, recommends and implements process technologies required to enhance the transition of products from design to manufacturing. Monitors day-to-day production activities and recommends product and process improvements to enhance the efficiency of operations. Works closely with both assembly personnel and support team to achieve this. Develops manufacturing routings and work instructions and applies labor standards required to support the product build cycle. Defines and specifies the requirement for assembly tooling, fixtures and equipment to support manufacturing operations. Participates in the development and implementation of emerging process technologies to support company or industry products. Prepares floor and equipment layouts to promote an efficient flow of product through the various assembly operations. Participates in design reviews for product and process compatibility. Provides technical assistance in the transitioning of designs to the manufacturing phase. Monitors designs for compliance to design rules, standards and procedures in order to provide consistency in designs and manufacturing process. Performs other duties and responsibilities as required. Requires a Bachelor of Science Degree in a technical discipline and a minimum of two (2) years experience in a related manufacturing field, or the equivalent. Demonstrated computer knowledge is required including experience with creating charts, graphs, report generation, analytical work with spreadsheets (such as Excel) as well as word processing skills.
