JOB DESCRIPTION:
Crowley Maritime, Inc. is seeking an experienced, motivated, and positive individual to develop and drive business through relationship selling in the development of Technical Services/Logistics to Federal and State Governments.  This position works closely with other business segments when putting together proposals and developing customer presentations. This position will have direct contact with customers and may also assist with contract negotiations.  Responsible for the research and analysis of new business opportunities consistent with the organization’s strategic direction (Sales of Technical Services – not including IT work – to all divisions of federal and state governments).  Utilizes market share, growth potential, information on competition, and economic conditions when developing proposals. 

 
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION:
5 years of federal government business development experience.  Demonstrated ability to market at key levels in the federal and state government.  Strong financial, contractual, and technical background. Excellent initiative, and interpersonal communications skills. Prior experience with contacts in the Navy, Dept. of Transportation (MARAD, etc.), Homeland Security (U.S. Coast Guard, etc…), U.S. Dept. of Interior, FEMA, SPAWAR, RITA, and/or U.S. ACE Contacts.  Strong understanding of Federal Contracting (GSA, IDIQ, GWAC, BPA, etc.) preferred.  Experience working for the Federal government is an advantage. 

 

Must possess skill sets and demonstrate proven experience developing, improving and streamlining processes to meet established goals and objectives.  Though well-supported within the division, this position will have ultimate responsibility for customer satisfaction results on the varied projects they deliver.

 

BA in Business or Engineering required.  MBA preferred.
