Job Title: Maintenance Electrician

Job Summary:

 

Candidate will be responsible for performing maintenance support for general building operations and needs.  Will perform electrical work required for installation, operation and maintenance of equipment, systems and facilities.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Candidate will perform a variety of electrical trade funcations such as the installation, maintenance and repair of equipment for the generation, distribution, or utilization of electric energy.  Work involves most of the following:  installing or repairing any of a variety of electrical equipment such as generators, transformers, switchboards, controllers, circuit breakers, motors, heating units, conduit systems or other transmission equipment.  Candidate will work from blueprints, drawings, layouts or other specifications, locating and diagnosing trouble in the electrical system or equipment. Working standard computations relating to load requirements of wiring or electrical equipment, and using a variety of electrician's hand tools and measuring testing instruments.  The work of the Maintenance Electrician requires rounded training and experience usually acquired through a formal apprenticeship or equivalent training and experience.

 

Qualifications:

 

Must have a minimum of 5 years hand on experience in the Electrical Trade industry and be Journeyman level.  Must have knowledge of local and national electrical codes.  Must be capable of working up to 480 volts and conform to all city, state, and federal license and certification requirements.  Must be able to read and work from blueprints and schematic diagram and be able to use a variety of hand and power tools. Must be able to work off ladders, staging, and power platforms
