Law Clerk with the Office of Enforcement Operations (AFMLS)

As part of the Asset Forfeiture and Money Laundering Section (AFMLS) program a Law Clerk at OEO will assist attorneys, provide Legal Clerk and Paralegal/Legal Assistant II & III review and execute the following duties:
Performs complex legal research.
Prepares draft legal documents, such as motions, briefs, memoranda of law, etc
Screens documents for privilege
Assist attorneys evaluate requests for approval to conduct electronic surveillance
Communicate policies on the procedural and operational requirements for conducting electronic surveillanceA Law Clerk must meet the following qualifications:
Law degree, or currently attending ABA-accredited law school, having completed at least one year
Demonstrated ability to utilize law library resources and working knowledge of research tools
Demonstrated excellent legal writing skills, requires excellent written and oral communication skills
Proficiency in using Corel WordPerfect and MicrosoftWord
PREFERENCE WILL BE GIVEN TO APPLICANTS WITH ONE YEAR POST J.D. EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE OF ADMINISTRATIVE AND CRIMINAL LAW PRICIPLES. This position requires U.S. Citizenship and a 7 (or 10) year minimum background investigation.FSA offers a comprehensive benefits package.
