Instructor / Consultant - Federal HR Background

FPMI is currently seeking multiple Instructors / Consultants for various assignments throughout the Washington, DC metro area. Under minimal supervision, the Instructor / Consultant will present a variety of curricula for delivery to Federal sector clients. Subjects may include Alternative Dispute Resolution, Organizational development, mediation, HR automation, position classification, Federal and Civil Service Retirement and/or Benefits, Pre-retirement or other subjects based on client specification. May provide organizational development consultant services.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Deliver training courses, workshops and seminars to client to enable them to implement techniques that meet and/or exceed customer expectations. Prepare presentation from supplied material Meet with agency officials to assure classroom materials meet their needs Meet with agency officials for feedback· Use innovative and creative techniques in the classroom to develop a positive learning environment. Understand and utilize the adult learning theory in delivering training. Demonstrate and maintain professional behavior to establish and maintain instructor credibility Follow class structure guidelines from beginning to end · Incorporate interactive training techniques Responsible for all aspects of the learning event beginning with pre-class preparation, classroom setup, delivering the course, course evaluations and course follow up. Actively review and comprehend material to be taught. Deliver material in a clear and concise manner while being sensitive and receptive to the students and their concerns. Anticipate problems and problem areas and anticipate solutions. Prepare for travel and actively travel in a cost and time efficient manner. Confers with management to gain knowledge of specific work situations requiring employees to better understand changes in policies, procedures, regulations and technologies.  

Job Requirements:
BA degree, preferably in the area of education, communication or related field and 6 years specialized experience in Federal HR arena; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Federal HR background is required to understand federal culture and specific issues. Public speaking experience. Ability to disseminate complex technical information so that it is easily understood. Full understanding of the Adult Learning Theory and application in a learning event. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Flexibility to negotiate, cooperate, and contribute as a team player. Time management skills. Ability to manage stress. Ability to deliver training courses, workshops and seminars using a PC and perform low level trouble shooting on client site.
