IT Management Specialist 2
Systems Division provides select Government, commercial, and international customers value-added, total worldwide systems solutions for their air and missile defense, air traffic control, communications, command and control, range, spacelift, surveillance, and force protection needs, as well as full logistics support services for facilities and equipment. SPECIAL NOTICE: Position is located in Camp Roberts, CA. Position will move to new Wideband Satellite Operational Center in Hawaii in 2010. Locality pay is offered in addition to the base salary. Responsible for the operation and maintenance of the communications systems on a site. Applies scientific engineering theories, methods, and techniques in the investigation and solution of complex software, hardware and communications analysis problems. Provides liaison with customer to ensure maximum availability of systems for mission use.Performs system equipment troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, system backups, and configuration control. Performs communications system analysis and ensures measurement equipment accuracy. Develops and analyzes alternative implementations of communications system configurations. Assists in the establishment of procedures for logging system events to maintain a proper liaison with customer. Participates in and analyzes results of testing applied to applications and operating system software modifications. Assists in the training of new customer personnel. Performs other duties as assigned. Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance.Must have extensive knowledge of WSOC subsystems. Associate's Degree in Electronics or Equivalent. 7 years for IMS 1 and 6 years for IMS 2 of MILSATCOM experience with emphasis on network control and IT operations and maintenance. Experience in the use of IT tools for managing and troubleshooting complex computer networks. Experience in the management of DOCS computer networks (LAN/WAN), firewalls, security guards, and Windows system administration. Skills particular to the administration of a Windows environment. Ability to perform analysis on network loading and throughput issues. Experience in security administration in support of DIACAP requirements.Security Clearance Requirement: Active Top SecretAs a contractor to the United States Department of Defense, applicant must be a U.S. citizen to be considered for this position.
