ICE HQ's PROTECTIVE SERVICE OFFICERS

JOB SUMMARY:

MVM is searching for pre-certified FPS and/or SPO Armed Officers.  These officers will work at an MVM site in D.C.  Officers are responsible for the security and protection of federally owned and leased locations, as well as the locations tenants and visitors.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

·  Officers serve as the first line of defense at assigned FPS buildings.

·  Conduct access control, visitor and bag screening, patrol assigned areas, detect and report security violations, perform traffic control, respond to emergencies, and perform other security duties. 

·  Officers must be able to remember and convey information that is gathered in the field. 

·  Completes all necessary paperwork and reports in an accurate and thorough manner.  Ensures that all reports are turned into the client according to described policies and procedures.

·  Officers must be able to react to situations in a professional and intelligent manor. 

·  Performs other duties as assigned.

 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

No Supervisory duties.

 

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

1.  Must be at least twenty-one (21) years of age.

2.  Must be a citizen of the United States of America.

3.  Must possess either a High School Diploma or GED.

4.  Must speak English fluently, read and comprehend written English, and compose written reports in English.

5.  Must not possess a criminal record, have been convicted of a crime or served time in a city, or federal detention or prison facility. 

6.  Must have at least 3 years prior experience in Law Enforcement or an Associates Degree with one year of experience.  .   

7.  A current driver’s license.

8.  Ability to handle physical and mental stress associated with working extended hours.

9.  Must be able to regularly report to work without being late.

10.  Ability to be physically alert on any shift that is assigned.

11.  Must have Armed SPO License and/or FPS Armed Certification

 

 

Standing/Walking/Mobility:  Must be able to physically perform all duties required of Armed officers.

Climbing/Stooping/Kneeling:  15% - 35% of the time.

Lifting/Pulling/Pushing:  25% - 49% of the time.

Fingering/Grasping/Feeling:  25% - 49% of the time.

Physical Dimensions:  Medium work.  Exerting up to 10 pounds of force constantly and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently to move objects.
