SUMMARY OF THE JOBLead minor technical investigations under direction of Survivability Manager and/or assist Engineer III in the area of ballistics and explosive event research, materials research and development, armoring, metallurgical science, material processing, heat treating and applied programmatic researchSeeking applicants with some or all of the following experience, research skills and skill sets Knowledge and experience in the areas of finite element modeling of anthropomorphic simulators and effects from impact and acceleration Knowledge, analysis and experience in the areas of finite element analytical modeling of biomedical science and biomechanics Knowledge and experience in the characterization of FEA material models and the methods of material model development Knowledge and experience with LS-DYNA software and Arbitrary Eularian / Lagrangian modelingPRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES: Pre and post processing of analytical models Specialized experience with non-linear dynamic solvers such as LS-DYNA. Responsible within the areas of biomedical and biomechanical modeling research and development, finite element modeling of anthropomorphic simulators for prediction of biomedical and biomechanical effects, explosive event research, development, armoring and applied programmatic research Project ownership responsibilities for minor technical projects including but not limited to organizing project path, tracking project cost, communicating, maintaining data and advising ballistic group of findings. Exercises a significant degree of leadership to minor projects and programs bearing directly on organization objectives. Preparing detailed plans, in systematic way, using established engineering methodology. Assist with the completion of projects on schedule with appropriate documentation Ensure compliance with federal and state laws Perform all duties in a safe manner Perform other duties as assignedMinimum Education and Experience Required:CAE / Human Factors Simulation:B.S. in Mechanical or Biomedical Engineering or Physics from an accredited university with a specialization in structural finite element analysis. 2-5 years of experience in computer aided engineering using LS-DYNA or similar software for biomechanical analysis.Must be a US Citizen.  Must be able to attain a US SECRET security clearance.Basic Skill and Ability Requirements: CAE / Human Factors Simulation Knowledge and experience with non-linear finite element analysis and material model experience Experience with biomechanical analysis using non-linear, dynamic finite element solvers Basic Requirements: Preference will be given to those applicants with advanced degrees. Experience with VPG pre and post processing software a plus. Solid interpersonal skills with experience in customer/supplier relations. Self-motivated: Process/results oriented. Problem solving skills required. Able to handle multiple assignments under extreme time constraints and high stress conditions Must have strong work ethic, sense of urgency and a high energy level Ability to work effectively to meet deadlines Proficiency in Microsoft Office application, required, AutoCAD experience a plus. Must be flexible to work days, evenings, whatever to meet business needs. Ability to work with a diversified work force Offers of employment may be contingent upon passing a substance abuse screening test and/ or criminal background check Must be a US Citizen.
