Hardware Engineer

Whether you're a seasoned professional or just starting your career, we may have the opportunity you've been seeking to work in a dynamic, energetic environment! -Hardware engineer to develop next generation electronic security systems. -Assess customer needs, technology trends, and complete competitive benchmark testing. -Work with System Engineers to define requirements, architecture, interfaces, and performance requirements for global product platforms. -Complete high level and detailed circuit design and analysis, prototype testing and product certification consistent with design requirements. -Develop models to support the installation, commissioning and servicing of security products. -Identify opportunities for Intellectual Property development and for partnering with suppliers whenever appropriate. -Work with manufacturing and supply chain representatives to achieve cost and manufacturing Quality objectives. -Design and develop factory test systems as needed. -Establish and develop relationships with key technology partners (including outside suppliers, academic institutions, etc.) as needed to accomplish project objectives. -Facilitate timely resolution of technical issues through participation in weekly project team meetings, action items tracking, progress reports, management presentations and disciplined project phase gate reviews. -Provide technical leadership and mentoring to less experienced Engineers B.S. in Electrical Engineering with 10+ years related experience -or- M.S. in Electrical Engineering with 8+ years related experience. Required: - High speed digital circuit design skills. - Problem solving and modeling skills. - Familiarity with Cadence circuit design tools. - Communication protocols Desired: -Network communications -Wireless sensor networks -Working knowledge of advanced Quality Systems, lean manufacturing and modern electronics manufacturing methods extremely beneficial. -Proven track record of ability to produce results. The ideal candidate for this position is an excellent communicator who possesses a rare combination of business acumen, technical and interpersonal skills. There is 1 position available. Grade level dependant upon skill/experience. Electronic Security product development experience preferred. Fluency in a foreign language is a plus. Must be willing to travel as needed.
