Working collaboratively with the Deputy Fire Chief orAssistant Fire Chief, you’ll coordinate specified functional areas and/orprograms related to attaining and maintaining fire service accreditation andthe fire insurance rating.  Programs include strategic and long-range planningand development of measures of effectiveness, fire protection services planningand development, fire department quality assurance and continuous qualityimprovement, standards of cover to include planning and projecting fire stationlocation and recommendations for resource allocation. The successfulcandidate will also perform technical, analytical, and skilled work in theoperation and maintenance of a comprehensive Geographic Information System(GIS) and utilizes the GIS to evaluate data, maintain databases, and producecartographic products, while also utilizing various data base programs andresources to perform critical analysis of fire department programs and toprepare and present conclusions and recommendations. Our ideal candidate will possessaBachelorsDegree or equivalent from a regionally accredited college, university ortechnical school with major course work in Fire Service Administration,Business Management, Emergency Planning, Planning, Geography, ManagementInformation Systems (MIS), plus 2-5 years of professional level analytical oradministrative support experience in emergency service delivery design andevaluation. In addition, two (2) years experience in working with an automatedgeographic information system is also required. Possession of an appropriateadvanced degree, proficient experience with Microsoft Office Suite, ESRI(ArcView, ArcInfo, ArcIMS, ArcSDE), ArcObjects, Visual Basic.NET, VBA, SQL, MSAccess, HTML, ArcXML, and/or JavaScript, as well as candidates with bilingual(Spanish speaking and writing skills), are all highly desired.
