FRESHWATER CONSERVATION DIRECTOR

The Nature Concervancy of Maine seeks a Freshwater Conservation Director, responsible for leading all aspects of Maine's Freshwater Conservation Program. This program will significantly enhance The Nature Conservancy's efforts to conserve aquatic plants, animals and ecosystems within priority conservation areas throughout the state and the region. BA/BS degree (advanced degree preferred) in natural sciences/natural resource planning or equivalent professional experience, and at least 5-7 years related experience in natural resource planning, management or policy. Equivalent combination of education and experience acceptable.

Knowledge of freshwater ecology, hydrology and public policy, and experience in applying this knowledge to set and achieve conservation outcomes. Background in the ecology and management of rivers and diadramous fish desirable.
