As a key member of the U.S. Army's Future Combat Systems (FCS) Team, GS will help ensure the future success of U.S. soldiers on the battlefield developing and demonstrating five Manned Ground Vehicles that are part of the family of systems for FCS, including support for the Non-Line-of-Sight Cannon in 2008. GS fulfils another key role on FCS as the developer of the Armed Robotic Vehicle in two variants. These critical weapons will be the first in a new line of combat vehicles and systems that will empower soldiers through unmatched firepower, situational awareness and survivability. GS is also developing and delivering integrated survivability technologies from body armor inserts to active protection systems that provide a new level of soldier survivability and combat vehicle performance. A Senior Mechanical Engineer must develop practical economic solutions that meet the performance cost and schedule requirements within program constraints. The Senior Mechanical Engineer position has broad exposure to the complex business and technical challenges facing a major defense contractor. Major responsibilities frequently include developing innovative product designs, providing production support, performing engineering analyses, and managing project resources. This position will support the LAV upgrade program. Qualifications: * BSME with 5 years experience or MSME with 3 years experience * Pro/E experience to generate detail component models and assemblies.
