Economic Analyst

$49,516 - $60,645/yr.  DOE

Full-time, tenure and benefit eligible, FLSA exempt

Responsible for coordinating and the undertaking of a wide variety of economic research designed to support efforts to promote and enhance the economic vitality of the community. Additionally, this position is expected to explain economic research including demographic changes, economic trends, strategic plans and community competitiveness to staff, the City Council, the Northern Arizona Economic Development Advisory Committee and other partners in the community including Northern Arizona University and the larger business community. This employee will work closely with the Community Investment Director and the Business Retention and Expansion Manager and also works with the Business Attraction Manager in partnerships to develop necessary materials to complete programs.

 

Minimum Requirements:

 

· Bachelor’s degree in Public or Business Administration, Economic Development, Geography, Economics, Public Relations, Planning (or a closely related field)

· Three years of progressive work experience in an office environment that includes economic analysis and data collection (including experience in graphic design, web design and GIS mapping and planning)

· One year of experience with Internet research

· Or any combination of education/experience/training equivalent to the above minimum requirements
