Director, Project Manager Office (08-4492-MS1)

The Maryland Department of Information Technology (DoIT) is seeking a talented and highly motivated individual to direct the Project Management Office to oversee major IT projects in the State and IT projects undertaken by DoIT and the Maryland Department of Budget and Management (DBM).  Reporting to the Director of Strategic Planning and located at 45 Calvert Street in Annapolis, Maryland, the incumbent is responsible for the development, implementation and monitoring of IT project management policies, processes and standards, such as the systems development lifecycle (SDLC); change, risk and issue management; documentation and status reporting; independent verification and validation (IV&V) ; and resource management.  This individual provides expert advisory support to all major IT project teams for all elements of the Project Management Institute’s (PMI) Knowledge Areas and the State’s SDLC, serves as advisor to the Office of the Secretary and other executive branch agencies                regarding project management, and leads the PMO staff.  The PMO staff is comprised of contract and project managers for both oversight and actual project execution.
