Director

Public agency seeks seasoned administrator to manage environmental donation and reuse center serving cultural, social service and educational not-for-profits. Essential for this position are fundraising skills, a demonstrated track record raising private and public resources, and familiarity with not-for-profit business practices and governance.

Administrative and budget management skills will be considered as well as the ability to coordinate a high volume of donated goods and materials.

 

Candidate’s knowledge of teaching reuse practices is critical, as well as experience developing and conducting training workshops for teachers, students and artists. The candidate must demonstrate capacity to cultivate and strengthen relations with not-forprofit board members, while also maintaining effective relations with public agency officials.

 

The preferred candidate will have 10 yrs of experience managing warehouse operations for collection and distribution of

reuseable materials, as well as managerial service with not-for-profit cultural organizations. The preferred candidate will also be familiar with facilities management, including overseeing warehouse operations, public access, and parking and maintenance of vehicles. Other preferred skills include excellent writing and communication skills, the ability to manage public and media relations, and strategic planning and organizational skills.

 

A working knowledge of and experience in the City’s arts and cultural community is a plus as is the ability to deal with a diverse constituency. Salary $55k - $79k.
