 SAIC has an immediate opening for a Database Analyst Location: Honolulu, HIJob Type: Full time, Salaried Must currently have a DoD Top Secret Clearance SAIC is an Equal Opportunity Employer, M/F/D/V Description:Performs database administration and configuration management functions to include the follow­ing duties: Installing and upgrading Oracle DBMS and all associated products to include applica­tions tools. Allocating system storage and planning future storage requirements for the database system. Creating primary database storage structures (table spaces). Creating primary objects (tables, views, indexes) once application developers have designed an application. Modifying the database structure, as necessary, from information given by the application developers. Imple­menting and maintaining database security. Ensuring compliance with Oracle License agreement. Controlling and monitoring user access to the database. Monitoring and optimizing the perform­ance of the database. Planning for backup and recovery (Control Files, Redo Logs, Rollback Segments, System Data Files, etc) of database information. Maintaining archived data on tape. Backing up and restoring the database (On line and Complete). Contacting Oracle corporation for technical assistance. Perform set up, troubleshooting and maintenance of replication. Complete Software Readiness Review Checklists (Take Action As Required). Tuning the database for opti­mal performance. Liaising with database Worldwide Customer Support to deal with technical issues requiring Oracle’s intervention. Staying current with Oracle’s emerging product line and with new additions that may complement your existing applications. Education:Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business or other related scientific or technical discipline and at least 7 years of relevant experience. . Required Skills:Specialized experience includes: supervision of database administrators and installation, mainte­nance, and designing of database systems. General experience includes increasing responsibili­ties as a database administrator. Demonstrated leadership/management, briefing and writing skills. Demonstrated expertise in analytical problem solving. Demonstrated expertise with network security products and systems.Desired Skills:Familiarity with DOD, Joint Staff, and joint organizations and operations.  Oracle Certified Professional.Experience/Additional Comments:Applicant must have or be able to obtain/transfer a DoD Top Secret clearance.
