Data Warehouse/Business Intelligence Developer

Multnomah County is seeking a Data Warehouse/Business Intelligence Developer (BI Developer) to play an integral part in the analysis, design and development of ETL/ Data Warehouse tools and web-based application systems.  The Data Warehouse/BI Developer will have an opportunity to work in a multi-faceted and dynamic organization with responsibility for designing and developing new reports from both user requirements and through direction from senior developers. The Data Warehouse/BI Developer will modify existing report programs and provide developer, user, technical and operational documentation.  The position also performs QA on data that is represented in the reports and cubes, research issues related to the data, perform support duties on back-end processing and have an opportunity to develop an in-depth knowledge of the functions associated with business departments to ensure report results match up with source data.

 

Responsibilities include:

• Implementing data transformation from source to target

• Working with customers to help finalize user requirements around reports

• Data mapping and flow testing for various reports and charts

• Providing back-up support on production breakage

• Developing intermediate to complex SQL scripts

• Producing customer reports by compiling and analyzing data, providing data definitions and report objects, developing data flow diagrams, and schemas as defined by user requirements

 

The ideal candidate will:

• Understand how to automate business rules, provide data cleansing and data quality analysis

• Understand fundamentals of data architecture and data modeling concepts

• Have knowledge of developing web applications in .NET framework
