This is a contract opportunity paying $12.00 - $17.00 per hour based on experience. ** There is no guarantee of permanent employment and there is no Holiday Pay or Vacation time available **Monday - Friday 6:00AM - 3:45PM, 9/80 Work ScheduleJOB DESCRIPTION:Sets up and operates engine and a variety of other lathes to perform such operations as turning, facing, boring, chasing threads, turning tapers, drilling, grooving, reaming, and chamfering to extracting tolerances. May plan sequence of operations, number of cuts required, and method of setup; determines, sets, and adjusts speeds, feeds and depth of cut; interprets blueprints, sketches and engineering specifications. Uses a variety of machinist's hand tools and precision measuring instruments; makes standard shop computations relating to dimensions of work, tooling, feeds, and speeds; and measures, marks, and scribes dimensions and reference points to lay out stock for machining.
