PROGRAM SALES MANAGER – Defense Logistics Agency

 

Responsibilities

· Represent ADS with the Defense Logistics Agency and all associated contracting operations

· Work with DLA to research and develop business

o  Identify program needs and objectives

o  Identify initial purchases and priorities, manufacturers, product categories and technologies

o  Identify preferred and/or optimal means of procurement

o  Serve as the lead for all large scale solicitations

o  Engage and establish long term sales and service solutions

o  Keep executives informed throughout the sales cycle

· Market/Industry analysis

o  Analyze market trends, new requirements, new program inceptions

o  Gather intelligence

o  Create new solutions in response to market changes

· Represent preferred vendor products as applicable

· Work with internal ADS support staff

o  Communicate with support staff to make sure customer deadlines are met, agreements are in place, strategic alliances are established, etc.

o  Facilitate direct communication with customer when needed

o  Work with assigned vertical sales reps based on program territory and/or scope of program objective as required.

· Help structure and grow program development business unit

o  Identify opportunities for continuous improvement

o  Generate reports and respond to requests for information on time

 

Requirements

· 5 years of experience with DLA, either from the procurement side, as an agent or employee of DLA, or from the supplier side, calling and and selling to the DLA

· Minimum 2 years experience in government contracts & procedures

· 2 years of experience with MS Office

· Bachelor’s Degree preferred, but government experience & military background may be substituted

· Frequent travel required
