GS provides combat vehicle systems in major vehicle families - Bradley, M88, AAV, M113, M109 and M9 - that fulfill more than 20 different current force mission roles. As military forces confront threats around the world, GS is supporting the current force with vital enhancements to existing systems and offering new solutions to rapidly meet essential customer needs. As a key member of the U.S. Army's Future Combat Systems (FCS) Team, GS will help ensure the future success of U.S. soldiers on the battlefield developing and demonstrating five Manned Ground Vehicles that are part of the family of systems for FCS, including support for the Non-Line-of-Sight Cannon in 2008. GS fulfils another key role on FCS as the developer of the Armed Robotic Vehicle in two variants. These critical weapons will be the first in a new line of combat vehicles and systems that will empower soldiers through unmatched firepower, situational awareness and survivability. GS is also developing and delivering integrated survivability technologies from body armor inserts to active protection systems that provide a new level of soldier survivability and combat vehicle performance. The Business Development / Research Analyst is a generalist position located in Sterling Heights near the TACOM customer base. The Business Developer/Research Analyst will report to a Business Development manager. Usually follows general instructions to assist in the development of Business Development programs, policies, and the implementation and administration of business development functional areas. Operates as a generalist to interpret and provide data to management, customers, and business partners on a variety of Business Development issues. Contacts are primarily with immediate supervisor and other professionals in the section or group and the primary customer interface for this position will be with government contract and procurement offices. Duties and responsibilities are accomplished with combined direct and matrixed resources within the Company. 1. Bachelor's degree in technical and/or business discipline and minimum of three (3) years work experience within the specialized discipline. Degree may be substituted by experience, if work experience is within the Business / Research Analyst specialized discipline. 2. A relatively high level of analytical ability is required to resolve moderately difficult employee relations issues and assist in the ongoing administration and communication of established Business Development policies, procedures, and programs. 3. Must be willing to acquire an in-depth understanding of company product lines and technical capabilities; and a thorough understanding of customer structure and TACOM Organization and its sphere of operations. 4. Requires knowledge and techniques to conduct research on defense systems, marketplace, customers, and competitors, and marketing strategies to direct key business development activities. 5. Requires planning, analytical, and innovative ability to understand the technical, marketing, and program aspects of the defense environment and demonstrate the skill to market new and/or developing potential systems, subsystems, or technologies. 6. Ability to quickly gain basic knowledge of competitor companies, products, services, business practices, and other defense and service companies who may provide market intelligence or be potential industry partners. 7. Requires ability to integrate information from multiple disciplines and sources to complete assignments under constrained time limits. 8. Requires ability to navigate through complex internet web sites. 9. Ability to contribute to group projects with well-defined assignments. 10.
