1 position; Administrative Division; U.S. Attorney's Office, Birmingham, AL; Term of contract: 6 months to 1 yr; salary: $23.74 per hour. Do you have a background in support services or human resources? The U.S. Attorney's Office is seeking an individual who is experienced in providing administrative support in the area of support services including providing procurement, property management, and space management or in the area of human resources including employee relations, recruitment, and professional development. If applying under support services, the individual should be knowledgeable about space management, property management including inventory, have a general knowledge of the federal procurement process, and knowledge of contemporary office automation and communication hardware and software. The individual should also be skilled in keyboard proficiency to enter data with acceptable speed and accuracy. If applying under human resources, the individual should be knowledgeable about the procedures relating to the human resources function, be able to complete and document comprehensive research projects, and have the ability to make decisions, resolve problems or discrepancies based on knowledge of human resources practices. The person selected for this position MUST undergo a background investigation to include a favorable name and fingerprint check by the FBI and a favorable review of the person's credit report. Hours of duty are 8:30am until 5:00pm, Mon-Fri, which includes a one hour lunch period. This contract does not include fringe benefits, sick leave, vacation, government holidays, jury duty, military leave or any other kind of administrative leave including acts of God, Presidential funerals, or any other government closure.
