The Southwest Ohio Regional Transit Authority/Metro is looking for an energetic, creative and proactive individual with a unique combination of accounting background and IT skills to serve as an database specialist/business analyst in our Accounting Department.  The right person in this newly created position will have a real opportunity to make an impact on our organization by enabling us to truly maximize the benefits of our investment in technology.

 

The successful candidate will provide needed development expertise in database management, SQL inquiries, Access, Crystal and other report writing, as well as day-to-day application support for accounting systems including payroll, general ledger and other supporting programs.  Other important responsibilities include:

 Lead software installations, conversions and upgrades to Accounting applications

 Provide recommendations on how software can be utilized more effectively and/or more efficiently to advance both departmental and organizational goals

 Write custom reports and ad-hoc inquiries using Access, Crystal, SQL, Impromptu or other applications as appropriate

 Train existing Accounting personnel to execute the custom reports and inquiries once developed and to better utilize existing software in performing their duties more efficiently.

 

 

In this job you must be able to manage and coordinate multiple priorities.  You must also be a team player and able to communicate and interact with a wide range of Accounting, IT, HR and Operational team members.  Additional qualifications include:

 

·  Proven ability in database development and proficiency in application reporting tools, including SQL, Access, Crystal and other report writing tools.  Experience in Cognos Impromptu a definite plus 

Ability to both manage project schedules as well as perform detail work of database design, report writing, etc.  This will require the drive and motivation to
