ASSISTANT WEBMASTER

Metro is seeking an experienced freelance Assistant Webmaster to assist in the daily design, production and administration of Metro’s websites. Metro.net is a leader among services and information websites, averaging over 4.7 million page views and serves up over 5.7 million successful trip itineraries per month.

As part of our team, the Assistant Webmaster supports the Webmaster and works with Agency clients to publish mission critical content to our sites in a high-profile, high-traffic, fast-paced creative environment; excellent communication and presentation skills are required.

Interested applicants must be available to work a minimum of 32 hours per week on-site at Metro's downtown Los Angeles headquarters.Scope of Work

The Assistant Webmaster will work on a wide variety of basic web design, production and administration projects. Examples of tasks include:

The Assistant Webmaster will work on a wide variety of basic web design, production and administration projects. Examples of tasks include: Make routine daily updates to existing HTML pages; Designs standard compliant, branded Intranet/Internet site additions that utilize current web technologies and tools such as Cascading Style Sheets; Coordinates the use of and response to web site e-mails; and Administers site services such as visitor trends, email subscription and search appliance.

The ideal candidate must have experience with web authoring tools such as Dreamweaver and be adept at creating web-optimized graphics using Fireworks/Photoshop, Adobe Acrobat and skills in Flash (ActionScript) a plus. A proven ability to troubleshoot and validate code while sensitive to building Section 508/W3C Accessibility Guidelines compliant content (HTML, PDF, Office, video and graphics) a must.Submittal Requirements

Fee per hour will range between $25-33 per hour based on level of experience. Metro will pay against submitted invoices in accordance with purchase order language. Invoices are to be submitted every two weeks.Proposal Deadline
