Examples include auditing and assessing customer and supplier quality programs, co-packing and co-manufacturing quality programs, and troubleshooting issues of high complexity. Provides QRC support to Artisan and other manufacturing facilities in the West Coast region. Serves as QRC representative for new product start ups at co-mfg facilities.   This position will conduct QDRs (quality design reviews), assure that master control plans are in place and that all prerequisite programs are implemented at each of our contract manufactuers in the West coast area. Support will be provided to the West Coast Regional Distribution Center including routine audits and incident management as needed.   This position will be located on the West Coast. Travel is required and is expected to be between 50% and 60%.Candidates located in Northern California or surrounding areas will be offered the ability to work from home. Compliance: Designing and implementing quality systems and programs to ensure regulatory standards are consistently achieved. Provides training programs, auditing of quality systems, complex troubleshooting and large-scale incident management. -  Training: Designs and develops training programs for regulatory issues or quality programs. Conducts programs to ensure Hershey Operations achieve and maintain regulatory standards. May conduct training programs for Hersheys external business partners. -  Auditing: Conducts quality systems audits across Supply Chain to provide assessments of adequacy and issues recommendations or guidelines to ensure compliance standards are met. Provide audit summaries to Hersheys Senior Management and/or external business partners. -  Incident Management: Directs troubleshooting incidents of high complexity with the potential large financial or regulatory impacts.. Partner with cross functional groups (Marketing, Legal, etc.) and external business partners to ensure communications and action plans are established. Ensure timely and cost-effective resolutions are achieved. Liasion for the west coast in order to manage product recalls, withdrawals, and recovery. Project Leadership / New Product Support: Acts as QA representative on multi-functional project teams or complex assignments. May coordinate new product efforts from initial test runs to full-scale production to assure integrity of systems.   Subject Matter Expert: At this level, incumbent is considered to be a "super generalist" with broad based knowledge in multiple areas including knowledge of local regulations, industry practices, and corporate policies related to these areas. Would have a full understanding of corporate wide quality systems, with ability to implement as required.   Continuous Improvement Facilitate process/procedure improvement sessions related to: incident management, serious product quality issues, and overall quality system improvements Education: B.S. or M.S. in Food Science, Microbiology, or related field Experience: B.S. Min 11 yrs experience in food industry or equivalent experience M.S.
