Senior Director-Procurement

Our client is a growing major food processor. This position will report to the SVP of Global Sourcing and will have two Director level buyers and 11 indirect reports. Responsibilities will include but will not be limited to;Personally manage/negotiate and recommend position on company's commodity spend for sweeteners, resins and  utilities.Develop long range strategies and policies, link strategic plans to the company-wide vision and growth plan, and prioritize organization-wide efforts to implement strategies.Develop short to long-term plans including three to five year plans for procurement; evaluate the implementation of programs to achieve plans.Establish clear and measurable goals that challenge procurement to continuously improve; use financial and quantitative data to manage; direct and develop procurement process disciplines and management systems necessary to achieve objectives.Lead and direct the development of the procurement organization, process, and technology and financial models.Lead and direct global procurement operations including transactional procurement.Plan, delegate and oversee global procurement responsibilities on behalf of the company.Lead, develop and establish company policies that have enterprise-wide effect; analyze and evaluate complex policy issues and make recommendations on actions to be taken; set direction for governance and control programs to ensure compliance with corporate and regulatory policies.Develop and direct executive procurement staff agenda to accomplish strategy and business objectives.Develop and set direction on the procurement competency model and drive requirements for a world-class, advanced professional organization that aligns with the company vision and growth plans.Lead and direct the proactive management and understanding of the industry, best practices and technology trends, lead benchmarking efforts and provide insight to executive levels.

Ideal candidate will be degreed with 10+ years of progressive purchasing experience in the food or beverage industry.  Must have a broad background in purchasing. This is a hands on position requiring  excellent leadership, communication and analytical skills.
