Pollo Tropical, a Miami-style quick service chicken and ribs restaurant is bringing tropical flavor and hot job opportunities to the North East. We have opened 20 new restaurants in the last 26 months. We have 4 under construction right now and we plan to open many more. Our current growth areas are the North East United States and the Florida West Coast. While we normally grow our own managers, our rapid growth has created a need to hire experienced, ambitious career food service managers in New Jersey and soon, in New York.

We currently have stores in Clifton, North Bergen and Metuchen, New Jersey and have many more planned in this general area as well as in New York and beyond. We have an immediate need for managers at all levels of development including fast-track potential multi-unit, general managers and assistant managers with the desire and the talent to advance. In the last 2 years, we have increased our district manager positions by 33%, doubled our area manager positions, added 23 new general manager positions, more than 70 assistant manager positions and created openings for more than 75 hourly managers. These are not positions available due to turnover—GROWTH created these positions.

Our stores are not the typical quick-service restaurants. We make almost everything from scratch right in the restaurant kitchen. We marinate our own chicken and pork roasts, we baste our own ribs, simmer our black beans for 4 hours and make our own signature sauces. We are hormone free, 0 trans fat and offer a better-for-you menu that doesn’t give up a bit of flavor. What comes out of our kitchen is what you would expect from a full service restaurant. In the front of the house, a serving line, cashiers and drive thru move like clockwork to deliver fast food speed of service. Our new dining rooms have the ambiance of the Florida Keys right down to the sultry Caribbean music, well appointed and comfy booth seating and rattan wall treatments. Requirements
Because of our ambitious growth strategy, we currently require experienced managers who have a proven track record of:

A demonstrated ability to be self directed, resourceful and entrepreneurial.

Stable work history.


Track record of developing subordinates.


Clean criminal history and valid driver’s license.


Drug Free.


Availability to work any shift and any day.


Two or more years of Restaurant Management Experience or related degree from an accredited College or University.


We do offer Fast Track program for Food Service graduates.


Experience Military Food Service supervisors are eagerly sought.
