R & D Financial Analyst 2
Typical duties of a Financial Analyst 2 include:· Prepare monthly financial reports (monthly P&L, forecasts, etc) for business groups.· Develop and perform various financial analysis including:· Analyze and interpret historical results, forecasts, development projects, and business intelligence.· Translate business analysis into insightful recommendations to Sales & Marketing leadership to improve performance and create value.· Perform non-routine financial analyses, project planning and program evaluation studies typically characterized by reliance on sophisticated, often novel, methodologies and/or applications such as revenue mix and pricing analysis.· Ensure compliance with established policies, procedures, requirements, laws and regulations; completeness of data and adequacy of documentation.· Train business managers in the appropriate use of analytical tools to support decision making.· Provide analysis to support strategic planning, pricing, competitive gainshare, development project, and management cost decisions.· Perform complex financial analyses required for the strategic planning process.· Ensure account alignments and other important master data is accurate and updated in the information systems.· Ensure integrity and accuracy of financial databases and management reporting.
Bachelors Degree in Accountancy, Finance (or equivalent course work). Three (3) years of experience in professional level accounting or finance work, two (2) years of which must have been comparable to that gained at the next lower level of the series. An advanced degree in Accountancy, Finance, Business administration or a related field, or registration as a Certified Public Accountant may be substituted for one year of professional experience.1) Knowledge of: Theories, principles, methods, models and procedures of professional accounting and finance (Expert level)ERP/data warehouse transactional and hierarchical data modelsOffice methods and procedures (Broad level)Excel (Advanced Level), PowerPoint (Broad level) 2) Ability to:Communicate effectively, orally and in writingEvaluate complex accounting problems and to analyze and interpret complex accounting records and reportsReview and/or perform detailed work involving written or numerical calculations rapidly and accuratelyPrepare comprehensive reports completely and accuratelySupervise a staff of subordinates engaged in data gathering, analysis and reporting activitiesDeal tactfully with controversial problems3) Skill in:Operation of office accounting machines and equipment
1. Ability to develop and perform complex financial analysis as it relates to specific projects.2. Manage risk/high exposure projects as it relates to specific R & D spend.3. Develop infrastructure to collect data.
