Quality Services Engineer

The primary role of the Quality Engineer is to lead process improvement by rigorously applying SPC, Six Sigma DMAIC, DFSS and lean methodologies to achieve improved business results. This includes gathering, analyzing, and presenting quality and process data to identify opportunities for improvements related to key company objectives. He/She will provide direction in the area of data collection and the development of repeatable process systems utilizing SPC. The Quality Engineer will act as a coach to lead, instruct and develop process owners and improvement teams in the definition, documentation, measurement, analysis, improvement and control of business processes with the goal of reducing variation. This position requires a BS in Quality Engineering, Food Process or Manufacturing Engineering, Statistics or related degree. A minimum of 2-5 years experience in Operations or Manufacturing with 2+ years in a process improvement or continuous improvement role is desired. This position requires strong quantitative and analytical skills with a facile understanding and experience using SPC, DOE, and other analytical tools. The ideal candidate will possess strong computer skills with experience in excel, power point and project management software. Six Sigma and lean manufacturing experience is desired. This position requires that the candidate be proactive and self-directing with the ability to coach and/or lead teams and individuals at all levels of the organization. Problem solving and critical thinking skills will be important in this position.
