Quality Control Chemist
We are searching for the right person to fill the Quality Control Chemist position at one of our Ohio locations
Sugar Creek Packing Company is a diversified food manufacturing company with six plants located throughout the United States. Our current product line includes: pork bacon (raw and cooked), turkey bacon (raw and cooked), meatballs, sausage, bacon bits, bacon pieces, and sandwiches for customers throughout the US and in six different countries. We are also at the forefront of consumer demand by producing natural and organic products for some of our most discerning customers.
Most people have likely never heard of Sugar Creek Packing Company since we do not brand our own products in the marketplace. Our business model is such that we co-pack for many of the leading national brand companies while also manufacturing private label items for many of the top retail and foodservice entities in the US. We have been in the marketplace with this business model for over 35 years. Throughout this time period we have remained a privately held company with annual growth rates over the past 10 years of over 8%.
Sugar Creek Packing Company is recruiting for a Quality Control Chemist. This position can be fast paced and challenging for a self-motivated and open-minded individual. The candidate must have an Associates or Bachelors degree in Food Science, Food Chemistry, or related field. He or she should have good communication skills including written and verbal.
The candidate applies scientific and engineering principles in research, production technology, quality control, and utilization of foods by performing the following duties. The candidate will perform chemical analysis of Sugar Creek raw and finished products, along with maintaining standards for Analytical Chemical Testing. The candidate will also be responsible for maintaining and participating in the USDA Laboratory Accreditation program and analyzing products according to customer requests for a Certificate of Analysis (COA).
