Quality Assurance Auditor

Fannie May Confections Brands, Inc., a division of 1-800-Flowers.com, is currently seeking a Quality Assurance Auditor, based in the Chicagoland area, to ensure the quality and specifications of our product.  As a critical member of the Quality Control team, you will be responsible for managing implementation and compliance with federal, state and internal food safety requirements for our retail locations and warehouse facilities.  You will work with retail managers on food safety issue resolution, assure compliance with food safety requirements, and partner with the Quality Control team on internal food safety audits as needed. 

 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

 

•           Manage retail food safety program in conjunction with manufacturing quality control team.  Develop resolutions to food safety issues. 

•           Manage food safety auditing system using internal and third party auditing company requirements.

•           Manage food safety approval process for consistency across all lines of business.

•           Work with the manufacturing team on key food safety requirements for retail and warehousing.  Define food safety requirements and compliance guidelines for retail operations and third party warehouse operations. 

•           Present persuasive presentations to management on recommendations.

 

 

Qualifications:

 

•           Degree in food science, microbiology, or related field

•           Thorough understanding of food safety principles and food processing

•           HACCP certification a plus.

•           Food Safety and Sanitation auditing experience a plus.

•           Strong computer and interpersonal skills.

•           Ability to travel up to 75%.
