Production Manager

We are looking for a talented individual to join our growing team!  Portionables, Inc. - a division of Sargento Foods is seeking a Production Manager for our North Sioux City, South Dakota operation.

Under the direction of the Plant Manager, the Production Manager is to safely produce and deliver a quality product and service to the customer’s satisfaction.  This function is to be performed cost effectively as defined in the annual budget.





Responsibilities

1. Promote plant safety through education of employees, participating in safety committee, enforce safety programs and provide incentives.

2. Assist in establishing product specifications and ensure that they are met by plant employees.

3. Assist with preparation of annual manufacturing budget.

4. Supervise month end inventory and assist in month end close as it relates to manufacturing.

5. Uphold company policies; to treat subordinate fairly and consistently, to review existing policies and make recommendations as required.

6. Provide ongoing training and motivation for subordinates.  To assist subordinates in reaching their goals.

7. Seek ways to improve personal performance using educational methods such as classes, seminars and learning from the experience of superiors.

8. Recommend the hiring of personal and overseeing special job training.

9. Assist in cost analysis of plant improvements.

10. Execute projects as directed by the Plant Manager.

11. Ensure compliance with regulatory agencies.

12. Management Representative in Plant Manager absence

 

SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITY

 

Provides direct supervision of all facility staff in execution of production function.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

 

 

1. Education

§  Required:  

§  BA/BS in related field (or equivalent education/experience)

 

2. Experience

§ 3-5 years production and/or operations supervisory experience

 

3. Other required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

§ Experience with Quality Systems and programs.

§ Continues improvement and team building experience.

§ Budget preparation and cost analysis.

§ A.I.B. / USDA training

§ Knowledge of regulatory agencies’ clauses such as OSHA, FDA

 

COMPUTER EQUIPMENT AND SOFTWARE USED

 Windows, Word, Excel, Outlook and familiarity with a network environment
