Procurement - Category Manager-Packaging

A global ingredients giant that makes a wide variety of commercial bakery products, including frozen doughs and batters, icings and glazes, powdered and liquid fillings, whipped toppings, and frozen cakes is searching for a qualified PROCUREMENT CATEGORY MANAGER – PACKAGING for their facility near Atlanta, GA, reporting directly to the North America Procurement Director and managing two (2) Buyers.Responsibilities include Packaging procurement across the company’s North American facilities, as well as develop and implement sourcing strategies leading to the required cost improvements.RESULT AREAS:· Understand and collect category needs (from category packaging development, brand development and supply chain)· Collect supply market intelligence and analysis· Develop longer term sourcing strategy delivering the required cost improvement· Execute the sourcing strategy· Formulate and lead the company’s procurement negotiation plans for entering into strategic procurement relationships with selected suppliers· Assess and establish appropriate contractual approaches towards suppliers· Systematic (re-)engagement of current and potential suppliers with the aim to reduce the number of suppliers· Manager and resolve escalated/difficult supplier and client relationship issues· Saving reporting keep track of the performance of the categoriesPEOPLE:· Lead and provide stimulation to a team of buyers· Take care of the development of the buyers by settling up personal development plansPROJECT MANAGEMENT / COMMUNICATION· Act as a catalyst by facilitating open and effective communications with all stakeholders in the organization about the  consequences of the sourcing strategy and the price /market development· Applies strong project management skills to direct and manage all identified and agreed sourcing strategy development projects, within planned timelinesMAIN COMPETENCIES:· Strategic influence: deliver into OPCO’s through engaging various stakeholders based on sound organizational awareness· Entrepreneurial drive, lateral thinking and exploiting supplier capabilities· Sets high standards for goals, processes and results; and strives for continuous improvement· Focuses on achieving goals and results; willing to persist· Maintains and promotes social, ethical and organizational standards in conducting business activitiesSKILLS / KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE:· Bachelors degree in Business or related field  (or equivalent experience)· > 8 years of relevant working experience in the Food Industry· Demonstrated analytical skills and techniques· Intermediate or advance technical skills in Microsoft Office, including Excel and Power Point· Financial, mathematical, statistical, merchandising and consumer research background to read and interpret how internal and external factors influence financial results  MRINetwork, one of the world's largest search and recruitment organizations, has over 1,000 offices in more than 35 countries.
