Key Account Manager

The Key Account Manager will be responsible for developing and growing profitable business within an assigned geographic area focusing on ingredient/food manufacturing, emerging chains, large leverage operators, and specialty distribution. This position will be responsible for leading and executing key account sales strategies that meet or exceed sales, gross margin and new product launch expectations for the assigned region.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES include the following.  Other duties may be assigned.

 

Identify and obtain business opportunities within assigned region that meet or exceed sales and revenue targets.

 

Execute the key account sales strategies for the assigned region that result in achieving the Company’s fiscal year sales and profit goals.

 

Develop and maintain a target account plan for the assigned region that include current cheese usage, potential sales and volume growth opportunities, new and customized product development opportunities, key decision makers and current business strategy.  Account plans will focus on the development of relationships that introduce Sartori Foods to specific target accounts that lead to the successful launch of new products based on customer and market needs. 

 

Develop and communicate accurate sales forecasts by customer and by product for assigned region.

 

Develop a quarterly action plan for the assigned region which includes specific sales and margin targets by account.

 

Participate in and generate new product ideation sessions with key accounts which result in recommendations for new product concepts.  Provide a written summary of all ideation sessions to the Vice President of Research & Development. 

 

Coordinate new product presentations with assigned accounts which achieve new product launch plans and sales objectives.

 

Routinely conduct competitive analysis by monitoring and reporting on products, trends and activities accruing in the market and with the competition.

 

Ensure quality and performance specifications are meeting or exceeding customer expectations.  Provide and written summary with correct action recommendations. 

 

Attend trade shows, industry conferences and customer events to promote Sartori Food’s product line and product capabilities

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s Degree in Business or Marketing preferred along with a minimum of three years direct sales experience within the food industry calling on food manufacturing and food service accounts.  Formalized product development or culinary training would be a plus.  Must have excellent oral and written communication skills and be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
