HR/Safety Manager
Beef Products, Inc. the industry leader in processing boneless lean beef trimmings is looking to fill the position of Human Resource/Safety Manager in our Amarillo, Texas facility.
Key Tasks: Directs plant employment activities, assuring that properly qualified employees are recruited and hired for company positions. Coordinate post-offer employment physical and drug/alcohol screen process to include ID verification process. Investigate references and handle details of employee hiring. Administer company programs and policies. Ensure all plant HR functions are conducted in compliance with Federal, State, and Local employment guidelines Maintains good public relations status with the various civic and welfare organizations and business people in the community regarding personnel functions. Coordination of plant employee safety, health, security and benefits programs. Conducts research into personnel programs and activities and recommends changes or innovations when desirable. Audits safety training programs. Conducts safety audits of unsafe acts and conditions for all personnel in plant.
Qualifications Experience and training - Prior "hands on" HR or Safety experience in a management capacity is required, minimum of 5 years preferred. Education - Degree or applicable experience. Proficient in computer applications and HR data systems. Attention to detail and ability to multitask. Excellent written and oral communication skills required, bi-lingual a plus. Knowledge of current OSHA, Worker's Compensation, Safety regulations required. Ability to be on-call.
