Freezer / Shipping Manager

This position is responsible for one onsite and two offsite dock/freezers. One of the offsite freezers will have a five driver distribution department. Work with Supervisor to oversee all functions on the dock to include timely and efficient loadout of trailers and distribution of product. Manager will be responsible for inventory control and rotation of inventory on a daily basis. Responsible for accurate shipping orders on a daily basis. Will work with customers on order changes and will manifest all loads. Oversee dock area for safety, security, and sanitation. Assure that entire work environment is safe, hazard free and sanitary in accordance with loss control, safety and quality assurance standards and government regulations. Trains, disciplines and provides recognition to warehouse employees. Maintains a safe and clean working environment for all employees and visitors. Ensures all safety rules are followed. Communicates Standard Operating Procedures and plant rules to all warehouse employees and ensures that they are implemented and strictly adhered to. Conducts regularly scheduled team meetings that focus on quality, efficiency and safety. Understands and is able to fill in for all positions on warehouse team as needed. Documents notable items, both positive and negative, and places in personnel file. Manages annual warehouse budgets. Meets loadout rates as specified by the operations’ goals. Job Requirements: EDUCATION and / or EXPERIENCE - Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university; five to ten years related experience and/or training.  Equivalent combination of education, experience or training that would provide the level of knowledge, skill and ability required is acceptable.  Distribution/driver experience beneficial. LANGUAGE SKILLS - Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.  Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.  Ability to speak effectively before groups of customer or employees of organization. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS - Ability to develop spreadsheets, understand product formulas and percentages, calculate figures, proportions, area, circumference, and volume.  Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry. REASONING ABILITY - Ability to define and solve problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.  Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
