Environmental Health & Safety Manager
The EH&S Manager is a key member of the site Leadership Team and is responsible for driving EH&S initiatives while supporting the overall business strategy & success. This is a ?hands-on? role involves a large amount of time on the floor or in the distribution department with employees. Being a 24/7 operation, this position will require some off-shift and weekend/holiday hours.? Lead the development and drive the implementation of a 1st rate environmental health & safety program to create an ?injury-free? workplace that protects the employees, environment & the community.? Communicate EHS expectations & status updates to all employees & ensure accountability at all levels.? Coach, develop and motivate employees & managers on EHS matters.? Ensure effective inter-departmental communication on EHS matters.? Responsible for compliance with EPA?s Risk Management Program, Tier II & R reporting & OSHA?s Process Safety Management requirements (ammonia). ? Resolve employee safety concerns through problem solving & creativity.? Partner with line managers and supervisors on all safety incident investigations to identify and help implement new or improved processes and corrective measures to prevent reoccurrence.? Manage Worker?s Compensation claims including case management & RTW program to closure.? Track safety measures, including visual charts; provide regular progress reports to management.? Manage adherence to programs and policies outlined by the company, OSHA and other agencies.? Lead the site Safety Committee driving results through employee engagement.? Partner with site leadership teams in the development and execution of training programs.? Plan & successfully deliver safety activities in alignment with all business objectives.? Exercise continuous leadership to focus organizations efforts on meeting safety and business objectives.Requirements: ? Bachelor?s degree in relate sciences & professional Environmental or Safety Certification(s) preferred.? 5+ years safety program management experience in a manufacturing and/or distribution setting.? Experienced managing environmental programs.? In-depth knowledge of EPA, state & federal OSHA standards & Tier II reporting.? Advanced computer skills (MS Office, Outlook).? Ability to work off hours and weekends as needed; minimal travel required.? Ability to work well with people and be TEAM focused.? Strong presentation skills in preparation and delivery.?
