Director or VP Supply Chain - Food Company

Our confidential client produces food products that are sold to both retail and institutional customers. With processing and packaging operations in ten states across the country, the business has a long history of stable growth and financial success.  Based at the corporate office near Denver, CO, this newly created position will oversee all the critical aspects of the supply chain that involve moving raw materials and finished goods across multiple facilities.  He or she will address the complex issues related to logistics, materials management, and customer service.  Reporting to the President, this role will manage about fifteen employees through four direct reports.  He or she will lead with vision and character; and direct ongoing efforts to increase efficiency, improve quality  and reduce costs throughout the supply chain.  Beyond these core responsibilities, this highly visible role will also become involved in special projects that provide broader exposure and opportunities to learn the key aspects of the business. 

 

The ideal candidate is a dynamic leader with solid educational credentials and at least ten years of management experience that includes demonstrated knowledge of supply chain in a complex, multi-facility business.  Experience from the food industry is ideal, yet other commodity industries such as chemicals or manufacturing, perhaps distribution or retail could also provide the right foundation of experience.  Most important is finding an individual whose core values and leadership style matches the entrepreneurial spirit and “do the right thingâ€� culture of this unique organization.  Integrity, respect for others, intuitive thinking, and good judgment are all important attributes.  This role is ideally suited to a strong team player who will work with a long term perspective to insure that this financially solid business continues to flourish in the future.
