Controls Engineer - PLC/Packaging Team Leader; $4B Ingredient Co; Advancement Opportunity

If you have demonstrated experience in PLC related Network and Packaging Systems, with design and programming experience, and you’d like to work for a stable, growing $4B Ingredient Company that has $80M worth of Capital Projects currently underway, then we’d like to talk with you about the “PLC / Packaging Team Leaderâ€� position. In this position, you’d be reporting to the Electrical & Controls Senior Group Manager and have responsibility for all PLC related Networking systems and associated equipment. You’ll develop software for new projects and maintain, troubleshoot and train Engineers, Operations and Maintenance Technicians as required. You will also design and review NEW PLC Project Installations and assist with Supervision and Installation of new equipment. You’ll be working very closely with Production Area Managers, Team Leaders, Process Engineers and Packaging Operations throughout their facilities. This position is the primary resource for all Packaging Control Systems. Responsibilities and primary duties for this position will include: performing strategic work in designing new software programs to insure reliable process operations while working closely with process managers and team leaders ● enhancing existing software systems to insure production requirements are met ● maintaining the existing PLC network and developing new network infrastructure to support future PLC / Backup systems ● direct the PLC team activities and provide training as required ● create contractor bids and direct contractor resources as necessary ● provide periodic off-hours ● weekend coverage and primary resource ● specifying, ordering, assembling computer hardware and software operating systems ● developing process operation manuals ● interfacing with SAP and ASPEN systems ● analyzing new software / hardware technologies to insure long term control system integrity.  The following requirements and qualifications have been established for this position: 4 Year Engineering degree  (or equivalent experience with PLC / Network Systems) Demonstrate strong understanding of process / packaging systems design and control Demonstrate strong understanding of PLC (Allen-Bradley PLC 5 / SLC 500 / SLC5000) Demonstrate strong understanding of RS View 32 Demonstrate strong understanding of RS Linx Gateway / DH+ / Fiberoptic Networking Demonstrate strong electrical / mechanical trouble-shooting skills Demonstrate strong understanding of 3 Phase Motor Control Starters and Controls Demonstrate strong understanding of P&ID, process instrumentation Proven background in support of production systems Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills Demonstrate excellent computer skills. An outline of the REQUIRED and PREFERRED requirements and qualifications for this position is as follows: 4-Year Industrial Eng.
