Each and every day, Sara Lee (NYSE: SLE) delights millions of consumers and customers around the world.  The company has one of the world's best-loved and leading portfolios with its innovative and trusted food, beverage, household and body care brands, including Ambi Pur, Ball Park, Douwe Egberts, Hillshire Farm, Jimmy Dean, Kiwi, Sanex, Sara Lee, and Senseo.  Collectively, these brands generate more than $13 billion in annual net sales covering approximately 200 countries.  The Sara Lee community consists of 44,000 employees worldwide.Position Summary: This position will lead and facilitate the Environmental, Safety, Security and Food Safety programs and processes necessary to ensure facility remains in compliance with all corporate, federal, state, and local environmental (EPA), safety (OSHA), food safety (FDA/ AIB) and security requirements at a designated fresh bakery facility and be involved in the effective case management of injured employees. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Manages, maintains and submits all corporate, federal, state, and local regulatory compliance required documentation on time.  Oversees the work of a sanitation staff. Responsible for maintaining all aspects of the sanitation program including Sanitation Standardized Operating Procedures (SSOP’s) and Master Sanitation Schedules (MMS’s). Establishes and manages in-house and external audit requirements and process integration to ensure compliance in Food Safety, Occupational Safety and Environmental regulations. Oversees, evaluates and communicates audit results, trends and establishes action plans to ensure plant remains in compliance with regulatory requirements. Reports and investigates serious incidents and potential violations and recommends corrective actions as needed. Analyzes accident statistics to establish necessary precautions and changes needed for plant safety. Works with human resources and front-line supervisors to manage workers compensation cases. Responsible for building and grounds security assessment and measures. Conducts or facilitates training in areas such as ergonomics, emergency response, lockout/tagout, hazard communications, etc. Conducts safety orientation when needed in conjunction with human resources. Directly involved with plant maintenance and plant engineers to evaluate new equipment and processes to ensure they comply with Sara Lee safety and environmental standards. Other duties as assigned by supervisor BA or BS required. Occupational Safety, Food Safety, and/or Environmental concentration preferred. 5-7 years experience in quality, safety, sanitation, or environmental management — food manufacturing industry preferred with at least two years of supervisory experience Familiarity with OSHA, EPA, FDA, USDA, and AIB regulatory requirements Strong influence, communication and good problem solving techniques including knowledge of LEAN and or Six Sigma methodologies. Proven success with managing in a team oriented environment Extended shifts and weekend overtime expected Ability to work within a union environment. Excellent written and oral communications skills. Must have demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Office and other ERP database platforms Strong implementation and execution skills 10% travel required — other plants and training An Equal Opportunity / Affirmative Action Employer
