Chef - Senior Living

As the employer of choice, we have an opportunity available for an experienced Chef.  Specific responsibilities include, but not limited to: â€¢ Directs the activities of the dining services department in order to achieve financial and service objectives.  • Responsible for the development and implementation of policies and procedures for effective and efficient management of the dining services for all Sunwest Management, Inc. properties.   â€¢  Oversees the development of training materials and systems.  • Coordinates and manages menu development.  • Manages vendor relationships in order to maintain service levels.  • Fosters vendor and manufacturer relationships in order to identify and evaluate new products and services. The successful candidate will possess the following qualifications: â€¢ Working knowledge of rules and regulations related to health and safety in food preparation.  • Demonstrated ability in food service management and services.  • Experience in dealing with the elderly and their dietary needs.• Knowledge of food costs and budget comparison.  • Experience in developing and implementing training programs.• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.• Strong organizational skills.• Basic computer literacy necessary.  • 18-24 months experience in similar position (retirement community, assisted living community, etc) preferred.  • Ability to travel up to 100% of the time, sometimes on short notice.    This position offers a competitive salary and benefits package.  To apply for this position, go to www.smirecruiter.com and enter job ID code: 3221 EOE     Company: Sunwest Management Inc.
