Must be aculinary graduate, have a passion for contemporary American cuisine and cuttingedge kitchens.  Must be comfortablein an open-air demo kitchen environment and have a willingness to learn aboutfood additives, textures, and specific technique. Must be knowledgeable withlocal, organic, and seasonal produce. Must be creative as menus change daily.



The Qualified Candidate:

  Has at least 5 years of experience in the Culinary Field, including 2 years in a supervisory position at a fine dining restaurant, café, catering facility or resort. Experience performing hands-on cooking demonstrations for the general public. (Professional teaching experience is a plus) Is passionate about his or her craft and up to date with eating trends and styles. 

(A sophisticated palate is a must.) Is skillful and comfortable at working various stations around the kitchen as needed.  Posses a strong work ethic and a positive “can do� attitude. Works effectively and efficiently as a team leader. Is a diplomatic team player able to both lead and be lead. Is very creative and capable of generating seasonal specials based on farm-to-table principles. Communicates well with front of the house staff, management, and local food and supply purveyors. Assists in the daily operation of the culinary department and assume the operation’s responsibilities in absence. Consistently maintains high standards of quality, cost, sanitation and organization. Works well under pressure and is even tempered, respects authority and is easy to communicate with.  Able to develop hands-on cooking demos along with step-by-step recipes and engage a crowd in that demonstration. Adept at menu development. Quality, consistency and creativity of both product and performance. Computer proficiency required. The ability to negotiate, influence and sell retail items. Have an engaging, jovial personality and demonstrate culinary flare and showmanship.
