Buyer, Meat and Food Ingredients

Our client is a very successful manufacturer in the food industry with an immediate need for a Buyer.  This person needs to have experience in purchasing red meat, ingredients, and packaging for a food manufacturing company.  Meat experience is essential. Responsibilities: · Responsible for purchasing meat and non-meat ingredients, packaging materials and production supplies.· Establishing and promoting positive vendor relationships including monitoring vendors for performance and addressing issues as they arise.· Controlling costs through negotiation, competitive bidding, and identifying new sources.· Interacting as a part of the purchasing team with planning and scheduling, participate as a member of the Capital Expenditures Committee, · Role encompasses expediting goods and services, processing purchase orders and working directly with inventory management to maintain optimum raw material inventory levels.  Education/Experience:· College degree preferred, high school diploma or equivalent required. · 5 years prior experience in manufacturing with specific meat experience, food ingredient and packaging material purchasing. · Proven negotiation skills required. · Attention to detail along with good oral and written communication skills required. · Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. · Strong computer proficiency with Microsoft software knowledge and good typing skills.· Must be a self-starter with ability to work independently and in a cooperative team environment.  This is a great opportunity with a strong company known for innovation and quality.  They offer a great compensation program, relocation and benefits.  In order to be considered, you MUST include a Word resume and your salary requirements with your response.    MRINetwork, one of the world's largest search and recruitment organizations, has over 1,000 offices in more than 35 countries.
