Job DescriptionThe Buyer will have full responsibility for managing all vendors/items as assigned. This will include: · Setup and maintenance of the EVANT buying system to achieve service level and inventory level goals· Maintenance of all vendor/item components of the IDS ERP system· Complete and effective utilization of all system tools to achieve departmental objectives including developing manual tracking systems for off line purchases· Coordinate and communicate with all functional areas of the company to ensure Purchasing is properly supporting interdepartmental objectives· Support the Corporate Purchasing Manager and Inbound Logistics Manager with changes in purchasing patterns to optimize the profitability of MQF· Support of the Cost & Pricing Specialist with vendor/customer cost discrepancies related to vendor confirmations and invoices· Communication of vendor issues to the appropriate National Account Specialist/Managers for proactive resolution with the appropriate customer purchasing contacts including Requirements and Experience· Thorough knowledge of the EVANT or similar buying system with a proven track record of achieving efficiencies and improved asset management through its utilization· 3-5 years of purchasing experience with at least two years buying on the EVANT or similar buying system (preferably in food service or food distribution) · Bachelors Degree· Experienced with Microsoft Office applications, preferably Excel, Word, and Outlook · Relational database experience such as MS Access or Showcase Query a plus· Exceptional quantitative, analytical, planning and organization skills· Ability to act quickly and decisively in a fast paced, dynamic environment and be a catalyst for working collaboratively in a team oriented environment Applicants must have successful work performance, demonstrate an ability to communicate effectively, work well with others, have strong skills using MS Office software products, use productive work methods, exercise sound judgment, and display initiative and innovation on the job.
