Accountant & HR manager
Job Summary: Process accounts payable and accounts receivable. Complete expense reports. Handle payroll (in conjunction with an outside service). Complete other accounting functions for a large gourmet market and a restaurant.
Job Responsibilities: Process accounts payable, including reviewing invoices for proper approval, coding to appropriate account/sub account, processing checks. Monitor payables and respond to vendor questions. Prepare accounts receivable invoices, track payments. Review and process expense reports through an online system, ensuring proper approvals exist and monitoring against corporate expense policy. Ensure accurate posting of all expenses to the general ledger. Process payroll through an outside vendor, including processing commission payments as needed. Process journal entries to the general ledger. Process 401k contributions. Maintain the expense allocation schedules in accordance with established procedures. Ensure accurate filing/receipt of W-9’s and prepare annual 1099’s. Special projects as needed, including: preparation of supporting schedules for annual audit; prepare work papers for management reporting to partners. Perform such other duties as may be assigned. Maintain confidentiality as specified by Confidentiality and Non-Disclosure Agreement. Administer, (with minimal supervision), policies & programs related to all phases of HR for our employees. Develop and maintain employee relations climate that creates a stable and productive workforce. Manage and coordinate all functions of employee relations, including recruitment, employee relations, compensation and benefit service,
Requirements: Degree in accounting is strongly preferred but not required. Must have experience in Microsoft Office, Microsoft Dynamics (Solomon) and QuickBooks accounting software. 2-4+ years of similar accounting experience. Strong attention to detail. Ability to work independently and prioritize daily tasks. Strong written and verbal communications skills. Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and holidays, as needed. experience in HR in small or large organizations.
