This individual will manage 18 External Regional Business Consultants (External Wholesalers).  This individual must be a strong leader with a thorough understanding of the investment advisory and separate account space.  This position requires an individual that is visionary and can lead the industry, company and team to the next stage or level before everyone else gets there.  Duties/Responsibilities Function as a business leader for the Western Division of Curian Capital servicing the Independent Broker-Dealer Channel. Work closely with Regional Business Consultants to develop appropriate business plans to maximize territorial sales.  Collaborate with Product Management and Marketing in the development of product and related marketing and sales materials. Travel throughout the division to work directly with Regional Business Consultants to provide operational and sales support, sales ideas and sales coaching to develop highly qualified and motivated employees. Perform periodic development reviews with Regional Business Consultants that evaluate performance objectives and core competencies. Strategically plan and manage the deployment of resources to maximize divisional sales while being responsible for budgeting and expenses. Plan and execute product introductions, enhancements, and promotions with Regional Business Consultant team. Promote, foster and create a team environment. Function as a liaison and interface with the following areas to optimize sales:  Market Research, Marketing, Marketing, Legal, Operations and Customer Service, Internal Regional Business Consultants and Desk Managers.  The corporate structure is relatively flat and lean with direct access to decision makers.  Our culture places a premium on both speed and quality while remaining cost effective.  The pace is swift and the demands are high – as are the rewards for excellence.  Rewards are results-based, not tenure-based.  Position Requirements Bachelor’s degree required.  Appropriate FINRA & Advisory licenses required (e.g. 7, 63, 24, 65) Four years wholesale management experience required. Minimum five years experience wholesaling mutual funds or separate accounts with proven ability on how to grow a territory as measured by sales and persistency of business. Previous wholesaling experience to the Independent Channel required. Must have previous experience working with budgets, and possess a strong knowledge of sales compensation models. Extensive travel required. Must possess a strong ability to work independently and to communicate clearly and concisely.  Must have thorough knowledge of sales and marketing principles and practices.  Expected to maintain knowledge of existing Curian products, new or enhanced Curian products, and new and existing Curian marketing campaigns. Must have a good understanding of competitive intelligence. Must be a well-organized self-starter with high energy and creative ability.
