Web Designer
Moody's Economy.com, a fast-growing economic consulting firm located in WC, provides economic, financial, country, and industry research designed to meet the diverse planning and information needs to businesses, governments, and professional investors worldwide. Your responsibilities will include creating the overall look and design for the firm’s current and future web sites and web applications. Selected candidate will work very closely with product managers and the IT group to optimize the firm’s web-based applications in terms of user interface, product functionality, and ease of use. Individuals may advance to positions of greater responsibility. Long hours are sometime necessary.
Qualifications: Two to four years experience and possess the following: strong portfolio showcasing professional website design expertise leveraging the use of typography, color, graphics, and whitespace; superior knowledge of current web design trends and techniques; thorough understanding of Web 2.0 technologies (XHTML, CSS, XML, RSS, Javascript, AJAX); excellent communication skills; knowledge of web accessibility standards and practices; knowledge and demonstrated experience with cross-browser and cross-platform compatibility issues; expertise in using web design and related tools (Photoshop, Flash, Illustrator, Freehand, etc.); strong attention to detail and creativity in problem-solving, and the ability to work as part of a team. Educational Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree in graphic or web design preferred. Extensive directly-related work experience can be substituted for degree.
