Position Description This position is responsible for overall leadership of the annuity product line for Fidelity Investments Life Insurance Company (FILI). The Incumbent will establish high-level direction and execution for FILI’s annuity product line and has responsibility to work cross-functionally to build and grow FILI’s annuity business. The VP, Annuities Product Manager must have ability to work collaboratively and influentially with senior level executives in Sales and Relationship Management, Systems, Human Resources, Learning & Communication, Operations, Actuarial and Finance. SVP Annuities Product Manager will determine the strategic marketing direction for the annuity product line and ensure that it meets business plans and operational objectives. Incumbent must thoroughly understand the industry, its challenges and the competitive landscape. Primary Responsibilities Establish and execute marketing strategies and tactics to support FILI’s annuity products for all distribution channels (branches, phones, advisors). Role will coordinate with various marketing functions, including: direct mail, promotion, advertising, customer communications, legal mailings, marketing support to distribution channels Electronic channels and retirement income planning. Parlay knowledge of competitors’ strategies and tactics to new business opportunities for annuity product line. Function as key thought leader for annuity product direction; provide technical and competitive input to annuity product design efforts. Work closely with sales group to deliver on annuity sales goals (gross and net). Establish and maintain strong relationships with partners (FMR, FPI, IBG, FIIS) critical to the annuity product line. Ensure effective and complete positioning for FILI’s annuity products and services across distribution channels. Provide marketing direction and positioning for FILI’s role in retirement income planning. Strong understanding of strategic relationships between Marketing business objectives, FILI business objectives, and Fidelity’s overall strategy. Effective contributor and role model for teamwork across the FILI organization. Strong business relationships to drive effective negotiation with key Fidelity partners. Established external industry relationships for FILI. Education and Experience: Bachelors degree required. MBA preferred. Expert understanding of the annuity product line (design, sales, competitive positioning, etc.). Significant annuity and life insurance industry experience from product, and marketing perspective.
