User Experience Designer

General Purpose:
The User Experience Designer is responsible for overseeing usability requirements and creating all user experience deliverables (web design solutions to meet project objectives, wire frames, web site navigation, design revisions based on usability test results). The primary function of a User Experience Designer is to increase usability and end user satisfaction of Paychex' web based applications. Collaborating closely with end users, business unit stakeholders, business analysts, content strategists, web developers, and project managers, the user experience designer is critical to defining the user experience, layout, processes, and workflows for web sites and applications developed by the Enterprise Web Management department.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIESBuilds very easy-to-use web based applications that focus on the usability needs of our various internal and external customers. Translates customer requirements into user interface designs that will be utilized in the Paychex Intranet and in Web applications to increase ease of use and end-user satisfaction. Creates and modifies Web application screens, translating use cases and paper mockups into HTML prototypes, reviewing and testing designs with the key stakeholders, end users, and internal subject matter experts to ensure that designs meet the objectives of the project. Collaborates with the Content Strategists to provide information to the Information Architecture for the Intranet, detailing layout of content on web pages and the navigation. Leads the customer through the creative design process to develop project strategies that align their objectives with the desired user experience, ultimately increasing ease of use and end-user satisfaction in Paychex' web based applications. Facilitates focus groups, usability studies, and creates end user surveys that are used to ensure a project has met objectives. Interprets customer survey and focus group study results and makes user interface modifications as necessary to meet project objectives.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's degree required with 1-3 years experience, preferably in Graphic Design, Business or related field. Possesses outstanding skills in user interface (UI) and interaction design. Possesses exceptional oral and written communication and customer interaction skills. Knowledge of CSS, HTML, and XML/XSLT. Knowledge of Adobe technologies such as Illustrator, Photoshop, Dreamweaver and Fireworks and prototyping tools like Axure.
