USA jobs: Sr. Business Analyst

The primary objective for this position is to drive the business data requirements definition (mapping) and data migration (scripting) phases of GEMS (Global Entity Management System) software product implementation projects and to provide quality assurance, and hands on troubleshooting expertise throughout the project's duration. Position will coordinate status between Computershare's clients, project managers and back office technical resources.

As the main contact and central point of communication between Project Managers and the technology team resources, the Business Analyst will facilitate the discovery process, lead the analytical efforts and be the primary author of documentation and coordination required to successfully migrate clients' legacy corporate entity data to the Computershare Governance Services GEMS software application.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
¨ Serve as the functional liaison between the project management team and the technology resources for data mapping of business entity information such as formation and effective dates, directors, corporate officers, addresses, shareholder and transactional information, corporate hierarchy etc.

¨ Consults with client's business and technical project team personnel to characterize source data at the database table and field level.

¨ Documents the results of legacy analysis using the appropriate templates or analysis tools.

¨ Leads the creation, verification, and customer signoff of mapping documents.

¨ Schedules and monitors the progress of the Computershare technical team responsible for scripting the source data to the GEMS schema.

¨ Performs testing of migrated data for mapping compliance and issue resolution.

¨ Documents the results of testing activities using the appropriate templates or analysis tools.

¨ Participate in strategy, planning and or product development sessions as needed.

¨ Participates in testing new software releases as needed.

¨ Performs the project management role for projects of low to medium complexity, define the scope and manage the timelines and goals of the project.

Must have demonstrated ability to:

- clearly elicit, analyze, document, and manage the project's requirements.

- Interface effectively with client technical resources and end-users.

- Research and understand existing business processes and database application structure.

- Work both independently and cooperatively to define and develop effective solutions for complex business processes

- Knowledge and experience in gathering requirements and/or performing SQL scripting.

- The ability to work in fast paced technical environment and to manage multiple projects with competing deadlines.

- Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree (B. S.) from four-year college or university in a technical discipline and one to two years related experience and/or training; or 10 years related and/or training of equivalent combination of education and experience.

- Corporate governance experience is a definite plus.

- Strong 'problem-solving' expertise along with excellent written and verbal communication skills.

- Detailed understanding and experience with MS SQL, Excel, Access, and Oracle.

- Awareness of QA testing procedures and scenarios

COMPUTER SKILLS
Proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Access), MS SQL Server , Oracle, Toad for Oracle, Toad for SQL Server. Knowledge and hands on experience with MS BizTalk mapper or other ETL tools is a definite plus.
