Our Irvine office is seeking a UNIX Administrator. This is a 6 month contract to hire opportunity with our client in Orange County. JOB DESCRIPTION:Senior Level UNIX Systems Administrator specializing in AIX, HP-UX, Solaris, and Red Hat Linux.  Candidate responsible for AIX, HP-UX, Solaris, and Red Hat Enterprise Linux servers in a fast-paced, high-volume Fortune 500 data processing environment. Specific duties and responsibilities include: administering provision servers, performing filesystem management, Operating system upgrades, LDAP administration and print queue administration, performing performance monitoring, troubleshooting, and scripting. EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer/Engineering or equivalent, Masters or PhD is a plus. MUST have 5 to 7 years of progressive, stable experience administering HP-UX, RHEL Linux, Solaris and AIX servers in a large-scale, corporate enterprise IT environment. MUST demonstrate experience in Solaris 9 and 10; AIX 5.2 and 5.3, RHEL Linux 4.4 and 4.5, and HP-UX 11i. MUST have experience with Sun Directory Server Enterprise Edition 5.2. Also Veritas Volume Manager, Logical Volume Manager, Veritas Cluster Server, and Solstice Disk Suite MUST demonstrate ability and experience in Perl and/or ksh scripting. Prior experience working for a large financial corporation a plus. Solid verbal and written communication skills; Excellent technical skills a “peopleâ€� skills are required to work effectively as part of a team.  Please email your resume to sandralawson@spherion.com for immediate consideration; we will consider third party corp-to-corp candidates for this position.
